BRIDGE BACK

                   1. Identify the following icons present on the taskbar and discuss their uses:

                       (a) (b)

                   2. Explain how pinning an application to the taskbar can make your work easier.

In the world of computers, organising and managing data is important. One key
aspect of this is the use of files and folders. Let’s focus on understanding how files
and folders help in organising data efficiently.

                          WHAT IS A FILE?

A file is a collection of data or information stored on the computer or other digital
device. It can contain different types of content, such as text, images, videos or

software programs. Each file has its own unique name, which is made up of two
parts separated by a period (.).

The two parts of a file are:

File name: A file name can include letters,
                      numbers, spaces and special characters.

File extension: This identifies the file type and the In Windows, the total length of
application it belongs to. a file name including its folder
                                                                                     path cannot exceed 255
For example, Holiday.jpg: Holiday is the name and characters.
.jpg is the extension, which tells you it’s a picture file.

                          WHAT IS A FOLDER?

A folder is a place on the computer used to keep files together. It helps in organising
files and finding things quickly. Folders can also contain other folders, called

subfolders, to arrange files in a better way.

To do all file and folder related work, Windows has a built-in file manager application
                  called File Explorer.
