TRENDS AND ANOMALIES IN DATA
After the data is organised, patterns, trends and unusual results can be identified.
This makes the meaning of the data clearer and shows what it represents.
A trend is the general direction in which data moves over a period of time. It may
rise, fall or remain steady. It highlights the overall changes.
An anomaly is a result in the data that is unusual or does not match the normal
pattern. It stands out because it behaves differently from the rest of the data.
For example, the given survey shows, students’ Ants build efficient networks to
Internet services preferences. find food and communicate,
similarly data processing in a
Internet Service Number of Students network is designed to improve
efficiency.
