while splitting cell refers to dividing a single cell into multiple cells.

MERGING TWO OR MORE CELLS INTO ONE

To merge cells in a table, follow the given steps:

2 Click on the Table Layout tab.

                                   want to merge.

SPLITTING ONE CELL INTO MULTIPLE CELLS

To split a cell, follow the given steps:

2 Click on the Table Layout tab.

                                                                                      of columns and rows.
                     1 Select the cell you
                             want to split.
