MERGING AND SPLITTING CELLS
Merging cells means combining two or more adjacent cells into a single larger cell,
while splitting cell refers to dividing a single cell into multiple cells.
MERGING TWO OR MORE CELLS INTO ONE
To merge cells in a table, follow the given steps:
2 Click on the Table Layout tab.
3 Click on the Merge Cells
option.
1 Select the cells that you
want to merge.
SPLITTING ONE CELL INTO MULTIPLE CELLS
To split a cell, follow the given steps:
2 Click on the Table Layout tab.
3 Click on the Split
Cells option.
4 Enter the desired number
of columns and rows.
1 Select the cell you
want to split.
5 Click on the OK button.
Create a table on your computer and list your friends’ favourite foods. Add more rows if
necessary and experiment with different alignment options.
