 CHANGING THE ACTIVE CELL


 To change the active cell in a worksheet, click the cell with the mouse or use the
 keyboard keys, as listed below:  A new workbook will be created.


 Key  Function

 Shift + Enter key  Moves the active cell one row up
                 Data types refer to the types of values that can be stored in cells. Following are the
 Shift + Tab key  Moves the active cell one column to the left
                 data types used in Excel:
 Tab key  Moves the active cell one column to the right     Text: It includes letters, numbers

 ß [left arrow key]  Moves the active cell one column to the left   and  special characters like  !,        Text

 à [right arrow key] Moves the active cell one column to the right  @, &,%,  etc.  Example:  Orange!,       Number

 Ctrl + Home key  Moves the active cell to the first cell, i.e., A1   signs (-, +) for calculations. Example: 10, 250, 15.6, -25.

 Ctrl + End key  Moves the active cell to the last used cell on the worksheet     Date and Time: These data types represent calendar dates and clock times. The

                     default format is dd-mm-yyyy for dates and hh:mm or hh:mm:ss for time.

 CREATING A NEW WORKBOOK
