The Workspace in Adobe Illustrator refers to the arrangement of tools, panels and menus that
help users create and edit vector graphics efficiently. Illustrator provides multiple predefined
workspaces tailored for different tasks and users can also customise their workspace based on
their workflow preferences.

Key Components of the Illustrator Workspace
Different components of the Illustrator Workspace are as follows:
Application Bar: It is located at the top and includes menus like File, Edit, View, Window and
Help. It provides quick access to Adobe Bridge, Adobe Stock and the Switch Workspace.
Toolbar: It is found on the left side and contains essential tools for drawing, selection, editing
and transformation. Tools include the Selection Tool, Pen Tool, Shape Tools, Gradient Tool and
Type Tool.
Properties Panel: It provides detailed object-specific controls, making it easier to adjust
settings without navigating multiple menus.
