Health and fitness apps: Track steps, heart rate and calories burned throughout the day.
School reports and results: Helps teachers to track student performance, calculate averages
and identify students needing extra help.
Create a report in Excel and visualise data with charts, by following the given steps:
(a) Collect data: List your favourite fruits and the number of times you eat them in a week.
(b) Organise data: Enter the data into two columns: Fruit and Times Eaten in Excel.
(c) Analyse data: Use formulas to find the total and average of fruits eaten.
(d) Create a chart: Visualise your data using a pie chart.
(e) Save and submit: Save the file as “Fruit Data Analysis” and submit.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DATA SCIENCE
Data Science is about collecting data (information), cleaning (removing mistakes) and analysing
it (finding patterns or answers).
Artificial Intelligence means making machines (like computers or apps) that can think, learn from
data and making smart decisions. AI doesn’t just follow instructions, it learns from experience,
just like humans.
Artificial Intelligence and Data Science are closely connected:
Data Science provides the machine with the data it needs to learn.
Artificial Intelligence uses that data to learn, make predictions and perform smart tasks.
EXAMPLES OF AI AND DATA SCIENCE IN DAILY LIFE
Let us learn real life examples of AI and Data Science:
Google Assistant/Siri: AI listens to your voice and uses data to give correct answers or set
reminders.
YouTube recommendations: AI checks what you have watched and uses the data to suggest
videos you might like.
Face unlock on phones: AI uses data (your face image) to unlock your phone safely.
TECH
T ¢ Data modelling: Uses algorithms and models to analyse data, identify patterns and
E make predictions.
R
M ¢ Machine learning: A method which automates predictions based on patterns in the data.
