CYBERBULLYING AND ONLINE HURT
Cyberbullying is a common online danger that many &$!#%
children and young people face today. Children are more
at risk and can feel scared, sad or worried. It can affect
their schoolwork and daily life, as mean messages on social
media, emails or chats cause emotional and practical harm.
It can happen anytime, anywhere and the harmful content can stay online for a long
time. This can include:
YOU WILL NEVER
HAVE FRIENDS! Mean messages: Cyberbullying is when someone
sends mean or hurtful texts, emails or messages on

social media to upset another person. For example,

YOU SUFFER. TO ME AGAIN.
make someone feel bad.
Spreading rumours: Sharing false or nasty
stories about another person online to
embarrass them is also cyberbullying. For
example, telling everyone online that a
classmate cheated on a test, even though it
is not true.
Sharing private information: Cyberbullying is when
someone posts private photos, videos or personal
information online without permission to embarrass
another person. For example, sharing a private selfie of
a friend without their permission to make them
embarrassed.
Creating fake accounts: Cyberbullying also
happens when someone makes a fake profile
pretending to be another person to cause trouble.
For example, creating a fake social media account
in someone’s name or posting mean comments.
