DEVICE SECURITY

Device security means looking after your devices so no one can harm them or take
your information. Just like you lock your house door to keep it safe, you also need to

                 protect your devices from danger.

                                                      STAYING SAFE ONLINE

Neha, an 11-year-old from Delhi, was using her tablet to join a fun online quiz with
her friends. Suddenly, a pop-up appeared asking her to share her family’s home
address and her parents’ email ID to “win extra points.” Neha typed the details

quickly without asking her parents. A few hours later, her parents noticed suspicious
emails and unknown people trying to contact them.
Based on the above case, answer the following questions:

                  1. What information did Neha share in the pop-up?

                  2. What mistake did Neha make when she shared information online?

                 Types of Device Security

Some common types of device security are as follows:

Passwords and PINs: A password or PIN is like a secret
key. It stops strangers from opening your device or
accounts. Always make it hard to guess and keep it

                     private.
