Some screen time helps you learn new things, finish school work or talk to friends
and family. However, when screen time becomes too long, it can affect your body,
your sleep and even your feelings.
Screens All Around Us
Screens are everywhere in our daily lives from
phones and tablets to televisions, shop displays
and even in cars. Screens help us learn new
things, watch fun videos, play games and talk
to our friends and family.
Yet, screens are not just for fun. They are used
in schools to teach lessons, in shops to show
information and in hospitals to help doctors
care for people. Even trains and buses have screens to tell us when to get off.
Screens can be very useful, but too much time on them is not good. Staring at
screens for hours can make our eyes tired, our bodies stiff and even affect our sleep.
That is why it is important to use screens wisely and take breaks.
Effects of Too Much Screen Time
Staring at screens for a long time can make your eyes tired, your head hurt and your
body feel stiff because you are not moving enough. It can also affect your feelings,
making you grumpy, sad or easily annoyed when you stop using a device.
