A DAY WITHOUT SCREENS
One Sunday morning, Riya’s family decided to try something new a “Screen-Free
Sunday.” That meant no phones, no TV and no tablets for the whole day. At first,
Riya thought it would be boring. However, soon, the fun began. Riya helped her
mother make breakfast, played badminton with her father and spent the evening
drawing with her little brother. They even had a paper boat race in the bath tub
after dinner. At bedtime, Riya said with a smile, “Today was the best day ever”.
Her parents agreed, they all felt happier and more connected.
Based on the above case, answer the following questions:
1. How did Riya feel at first about the "Screen-Free Sunday"?
2. What activities did Riya enjoy during the screen-free day?
THE SLEEP DANGER
Sleep recharges your body and brain.
It helps your body rest and repair and
your brain remember what you learned.
Without enough sleep, you may feel tired,
grumpy, weak, forgetful and find it hard to
concentrate at school, affecting both your
energy and mood.
Example: Imagine your favourite tablet runs out of battery. You cannot play games
until it is charged. That is what happens to your body if you do not sleep enough.
