Tick ( ) if you know this:
1. Phishing is a common online trick used to fool people into sharing
personal information.
2. Phishing emails often promise unrealistic rewards, such as free
money or prizes.
3. Visit the official website of the company directly rather than clicking
on links in the email.
PREVENTING PHISHING ATTACKS
Phishing attacks can be prevented with a few proactive steps. By staying vigilant
and using protective measures, you can reduce the risk of falling victim to these
types of scams.
Creating Strong Passwords
A strong password is your first line of defence against
phishing. Avoid using easily guessed information,
like your name or birthdate. Instead, use a
combination of uppercase and lowercase letters,
numbers and special characters. Consider using a
password manager to generate and store complex
passwords securely.
Using Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra
layer of security to your accounts. Even if a hacker
manages to steal your password, they won’t be able
to access your account without the second form of
verification, which is usually a code sent to your
phone or an authentication app.
