2. A colouring-book game asks for your microphone.
3. A maps app asks for your location to show you directions.
4. A flashlight app asks for your contacts and messages.
5. A fun quiz app asks to access your camera and gallery.
6. A fitness app asks to track your steps and access your contacts.

8. A shopping app asks for access to your camera and microphone.
9. A photo-editing app asks for access to your microphone.
10. A social media app asks for access to your location and contacts.
After each case, discuss with your classmates:
Why is it safe or unsafe?
What could happen if we click Allow without reading?
What should we do before giving permissions?

THE APP THAT CAME WITH A PRICE
Sam was excited when he saw an ad for a free drawing app called ‘Glow Draw’
online. The bright colours and fun features caught his eye and without thinking much,
he clicked the ad and downloaded the app from a random website, not the official
app store. He was eager to start drawing and didn’t worry about where the app
came from.
When the app opened, it asked to use his contacts, location and storage. Sam was
in a hurry to start using it, so he quickly tapped ‘Allow’ on everything, thinking it was
needed for the app to work. The app worked fine at first and Sam enjoyed drawing,
but soon his tablet began to slow down. Pop-up ads started appearing all the time,
which made it hard for him to draw.
