TIPS TO STAY SAFE
To protect your privacy and security, it’s important to manage app permissions
with care.
Here are some tips to stay safe with app permissions:
Limit permissions to essentials: Only grant apps the permissions they need to
perform their core functions. If an app asks for access to unrelated features, like
a fitness app requesting your contacts, deny the permission.
Check app permissions before downloading: Research the app and check its
permission requests before installation. If the permissions seem excessive or
unnecessary, consider skipping the app.
Use permission settings to control access: On most devices, you can modify
an app’s permissions at any time. Take advantage of this by disabling features
you don’t want the app to access, even after installation.
Be cautious of apps asking for sensitive data: If an app requests access to
particularly sensitive information, like your location or contacts, ensure it’s
absolutely necessary for the app to function.
