The Importance of Online Etiquette

Online etiquette refers to the set of rules and guidelines that help us interact with
others respectfully on the Internet. The importance of online etiquette includes:

Respecting others: Treating people with kindness and respect, just like you
would in person, helps create a positive online environment.

Maintaining privacy: Being mindful of what you share and respecting others'

privacy, helps protect everyone’s personal information.

Avoiding harmful behaviour: By not engaging in negative actions such as
cyberbullying or spreading rumours, you help keep the Internet safe and friendly.

Building positive relationships: Good online etiquette helps you form strong,
positive connections with others and avoid misunderstandings.

Setting a good example: By practising online etiquette, you set a positive

example for others, especially younger users, encouraging them to follow suit.

Practising good online etiquette not only makes the Internet a better place but also
ensures that your digital reputation remains strong and positive.
