Students will create their own slogans based on the principles of digital citizenship and present them to
the class.
Instructions:
Review the slogans provided and discuss their meaning in class.
Ask students to create their own slogans for Digital Citizenship. They should include at least three key
ideas from the following topics:
o Online safety
o Respect in digital communication
o Sharing responsibly
o Reporting harmful behaviour
Have students present their slogans in front of the class, explaining the message behind each one.
Optionally, the best slogans can be displayed in the classroom as reminders of good digital citizenship.
DIGITAL FOOTPRINT
A digital footprint is the permanent record of your online
activities and interactions. It consists of all the information
you create and leave behind while using the Internet - much
like leaving footprints in wet concrete that harden over time.
Key Examples of Digital Footprints:
Here are some common examples of digital footprints:
Social media trail: The photos you share on Instagram, the videos you post on YouTube
and your profile information on gaming platforms all become part of your permanent digital
record.
Search history: Every term you look up using search engines like Google, from homework
research to entertainment queries, gets recorded and contributes to your digital profile.
Online communications: Messages sent through WhatsApp, emails and your activity in virtual
classroom chats remain in the digital ecosystem.
Digital purchases: Any apps you download, in-game purchases you make or items you buy
online become part of your financial digital footprint.
