Use biometric security: Most new devices offer smart locks such as Face ID, where your face
is the key or Fingerprint Unlock, where your finger is the key. These are very strong locks
because they are unique to you. If your device has these features, make sure to use them.

Always log out in public places: If you use a public computer, such as at a cyber café or
school library, always remember to log out from every account, like email, social media or
your school portal, before you leave. If you don’t, the next person could easily open your
                     private accounts.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PROTECTING YOUR SECRETS ONLINE

Protecting your private information and using strong passwords is one of the most important
rules of cybersecurity. If a hacker gains access to your password or other private information,
                  they could do the following:
Impersonation: They could pretend to be you. By sending fake, rude or misleading messages
to your friends or family from your account, they could get you into trouble or embarrass you.

Misuse your account: Hackers can take control of your profile, change your settings, delete
your photos or post inappropriate or false information using your name. This is called account

                     misuse.
Steal your game items or money: If your account is linked to an online game, hackers could
steal your hard-earned points, virtual currency or rare items. If you use a payment app, they
might try to access your family's financial details or even steal money from a bank account.

Understand the importance of locking screens and using biometric security to protect devices.
                  Instructions:
                      Lock Your Screen:

o Ask students to lock their device screen (phone, tablet or computer) every time they step away
from it, even if it's just for a few seconds.

o Demonstrate how to lock screens on different devices (e.g., Windows key + L for PCs, swipe-to-lock
                         for phones).
                      Biometric Security:
o If possible, have students explore the biometric security features on their devices, such as Face ID
                         or Fingerprint Unlock.
o Discuss how these features protect the device by using unique physical features.
Why is it important to lock your device screen and how does biometric security make your device safer?
