Spreads to other devices: Some malware can spread to other devices connected to the same
network.
Deletes or damages files: It may delete or corrupt important files on your device.
Types of Malware
Here are some common types of malware:
Viruses
A virus is a type of malware that attaches itself to a program or file. When you open the infected
file, the virus spreads to other files or programs on your device. It can damage files, slow down
your device or even steal your personal information.
WinVer 1.4 was first Windows virus, Groove was first .exe file and Farooq Alvi brothers created first
boot virus.
Worms
Worms are similar to viruses, but they can spread on their own without needing to attach
themselves to other files. They spread through networks, often without any action from the user.
They can damage your files or network and slow down your device.
Spyware
Spyware is a type of malware that secretly monitors your online activity. It can track what websites
you visit, steal your passwords or collect personal information without your knowledge. Spyware
is often used for identity theft or stealing financial data.
Ransomware
Ransomware is a type of malware that locks your files or device and demands money to unlock
them. If your device is infected with ransomware, you may lose access to important files, such as
photos or documents, unless you pay the ransom (which is not recommended).
Adware
Adware is malware that displays unwanted advertisements on your device. It can pop up as
banners or ads, often slowing down your system. While not always dangerous, adware is very
annoying and can sometimes come bundled with other types of malware.
Trojan Horses
Trojan horses look like harmless programs or files but contain malicious code inside. When you
open or run them, they can steal your data, corrupt files or give hackers access to your device.
