How to Protect Your System from Malware
Here are some simple ways to protect your system from malware:
Use antivirus software: Install antivirus software to scan for and remove malware. Keep it
updated and run regular scans to stay protected.
Be careful what you download: Only download apps, games and files from trusted sources.
Avoid suspicious websites and files that seem too good to be true.
Keep your software updated: Make sure your device's operating system and apps are always
updated. These updates often fix security problems that could allow malware to attack.
Don't click on suspicious links: Avoid clicking on links in emails, messages or websites that
seem unfamiliar or untrustworthy. They may lead to malicious sites that can infect your device.
Use strong passwords: Create strong, unique passwords for your accounts. Use a mix of
letters, numbers and symbols and never use easy-to-guess passwords like your name or
birthdate.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Use 2FA for your important accounts. This adds
an extra layer of security by asking for a second piece of information, like a code sent to your
phone.
Be careful with USB drives: Before opening files from a USB drive, scan it with antivirus
software. Only use trusted USB drives to avoid malware infection.
Log out of shared devices: Always log out of your accounts when using public or shared
devices, like computers at libraries or cafes, to protect your information.
