SOFTWARE UPDATES
Backups help you save copies of your data, but it’s even
better if your computer stays safe from problems in the first
place. This is why software updates are important. You can
think of updates like making your door locks stronger so that
it becomes harder for thieves to break in.
Software updates fix bugs and close security holes. Bugs are
small mistakes in the software that can slow down your device or make it act strangely. Security
holes are weaknesses that hackers can use to get into your system and steal information.
If you don’t update your software, your device becomes easier for hackers to attack. Many
companies have been hacked simply because they didn’t update their systems. Hackers can use
these weaknesses to install harmful software, steal data or cause serious damage.
“Have you ever seen a notification that says, “A new update is
available”? Do NOT ignore it! Software updates are fundamental for
data protection. Always install updates for your phone, computer and
apps as soon as they are available!”
Regular software updates are so important because:
Improved security: Updates fix vulnerabilities, making it harder for hackers to access your data.
Better performance: Updates help your device run smoothly by fixing bugs and improving
functionality.
New features and compatibility: Updates often introduce new features or improve existing
ones, while ensuring your software stays compatible with the latest systems.
By keeping your software up to date, you not only protect your device from threats but also
enhance its performance and gain access to new features.
3 out of 4 mobile devices are vulnerable to cyberattacks due to outdated apps and software,
making them a common target for attackers.
DIGITAL BODYGUARD – ANTIVIRUS
Antivirus software are designed to detect, prevent and remove malicious software (malware)
from your devices. It works by scanning files for known threats and blocking suspicious activity.
