Rules for Maintaining Digital Well-Being
To maintain a healthy balance between online and offline life, follow these practices:
Limit screen time: Set daily limits for technology use, focusing on important tasks while
avoiding excessive screen time.
Take breaks: For every hour spent on screens, take a short break (5–10 minutes) to stretch or
relax your eyes.
Be mindful on social media: Think carefully about what is shared online and follow positive,
supportive accounts. Avoid comparing yourself to others, as social media often shows only
highlights.
Engage in offline activities: Balance digital time with physical activities, reading or spending
time with family and friends to support overall well-being.
Maintain healthy sleep habits: Avoid screens at least an hour before bedtime to improve
sleep quality and ensure a restful night.
Protect personal information: Be cautious when sharing personal details online. Use privacy
settings and never share sensitive information with strangers.
Prioritise real-life connections: While online connections are important, face-to-face
interactions are important for emotional health.
