Harassment

This involves repeatedly sending mean, insulting or
threatening messages via text, email or social media.

Let’s understand this with the help of the given scenario:
Sia enjoyed sharing drawings on her social media
page, but one student from school started posting rude

comments under every picture. Even after Sia asked
her to stop, the messages became meaner and more frequent. Soon, other students joined in and
Sia began to feel scared to post anything online. She stopped drawing for weeks because she felt
hurt and embarrassed. When Sia finally told her parents, they helped her report the harassment
to the school and the platform.

                  Outing or Doxxing

It is the act of publicly sharing this private, sensitive
information (e.g., secrets, photos, home address, phone
number) without consent to cause humiliation or harm.

Let’s understand this with the help of the given scenario:

Ishika shared a personal message with someone she
trusted, telling them about a family problem she was
facing. The next day, she was shocked to see screenshots
of that private chat posted in the class group to embarrass her. Some classmates began gossiping
and laughing about her situation. Ishika felt humiliated and stopped talking in class because she
thought no one could be trusted. When her school counsellor found out, she helped Ishika and
reminded the class that sharing someone’s private information online without permission is a

                  serious form of cyberbullying.

                                                              Cyberstalking

A serious and often illegal form of repeated online
harassment that makes the victim fear for their safety,
sometimes escalating to physical threats or real-world
                                                              stalking.

Let’s understand this with the help of the given scenario:
After Aditi stopped replying to a classmate who made

her uncomfortable, he began following her on every
social media platform she used. Whenever she blocked him, he created a new account and
continued to message her day and night. Aditi became worried and afraid to use her phone
because she never knew when the next message would appear. She struggled to focus on her
studies and felt unsafe even at home. When she told her parents, they reported the cyberstalking
to the school and the police, who took immediate action.
