Keep 1 copy on an offsite storage. This means keeping at least one backup in a different place,
like online storage or a different location, to protect against things like fire or theft.
This rule helps make sure you don’t lose your important files, even if something happens to your
computer.
Data Backup Methods
Many companies, such as Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi,
offer inbuilt backup features in their mobile phones. One
way to ensure your files are always safe is by turning
ON Backup & Sync on your laptop or mobile device. This
automatically saves your files to the cloud. Even if your
device crashes, gets a virus or is lost, your data remains
secure online.
Backing up to the cloud has additional benefits:
Access anytime, anywhere: Files backed up to the cloud
can be accessed on any device by simply signing in. This
means you can continue your work at school even if your
laptop is at home.
Real-time updates: As soon as you make changes to
a file, the cloud updates it automatically, so you don’t
have to manually save or copy files.
Easy collaboration: With backups enabled, sharing
files with classmates and teachers is easy, ensuring
you’re always working with the latest version.
