People experiencing FOMO may feel:
“Everyone else is having more fun than me.”
“I should also be doing what they’re doing.”
“I don’t want to be left out.”
This feeling can make someone check their phone
again and again, compare their life with others, or feel
unhappy even when nothing is wrong.
In reality, social media often shows only the best
moments of someone’s life — not the full picture.
Understanding this helps reduce FOMO and encourages
people to focus on their own real-life experiences,
relationships, and goals.

SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE
Arjun and Kabir were close friends who always shared everything. But recently, Arjun started
posting many photos on social media showing expensive gadgets, outings, and parties. Kabir knew
that most of these things were not true.
Arjun spent a lot of time checking likes and comments. He began feeling sad whenever he saw
others having fun online. One day, Kabir visited him and saw Arjun looking worried and tired. Arjun
finally admitted that he pretended online because he didn’t want to feel left out. He wanted to look
as cool as everyone else, but it was making him unhappy and stressed.
