Privacy Settings Tips to Protect Personal Data
"Every day, we share information online—when we create accounts, play
games, shop, or use social media. This information is called personal data."
In today’s digital world, personal data has become one of the most valuable resources. Every time
an individual browses a website, uses a mobile app, posts on social media, or fills out an online
form, information such as name, location, contact details, preferences, and browsing habits is
collected. This information can help provide better services, but it also creates risks if it is misused,
shared without permission, or accessed by cybercriminals (individuals or groups who engage in
illegal activities online)
Protecting personal data and maintaining privacy are therefore essential for ensuring safety,
security, and trust in the digital environment. Data protection involves following safe practices
such as using strong passwords, enabling privacy settings, and being cautious while sharing
details online. Privacy refers to the right of individuals to control how their personal information
is collected, stored, and used.
