Cybercrimes and cybersecurity: Cyber law
addresses crimes committed online, such as hacking,
online fraud, and cyberbullying. It ensures that those
who commit these crimes face legal consequences.
This area also supports cybersecurity by protecting
computers, networks, and data from attacks, helping
maintain a safe digital environment.
Online contracts and e-Commerce: With businesses
increasingly operating online, Cyber law ensures that
online contracts, such as those made when buying
something from an e-commerce platform, are legally
valid. It protects both customers and businesses from
scams and dishonest practices.
Digital signatures and online transactions: Digital
signatures are used to verify a person’s identity during
online transactions. Cyber law recognises digital
signatures as legally valid, helping secure online
purchases, financial transactions, and agreements.
This ensures that online activities remain trustworthy
and safe.
