THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ACT 2000 (IT ACT)
The Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act) is the main law in India that deals with cybercrimes
and electronic transactions. It was created by the Indian Parliament to make online activities safe
and lawful. The IT Act supports secure digital payments, online shopping and government services
on the Internet, while also helping reduce cybercrimes.
