Plot the statistics of your class on various charts like bar chart, pie chart,
line graph etc. Statistics of your class should include:
1. Height of all your classmates
T 2. Favourite foods of your classmates like pizza, burger, momos etc.
A
S 3. Region of birth of your classmates like North India, Central India, South India and so on.
K
Brainstorm how to represent these charts so that they can be understood easily and are visually

appealing.
You can do the above task in MS Excel.
Information Wayfinding and Signage
Information Signage refers to visual graphics or displays that convey information for purposes such as
identification and safety. Wayfinding, on the other hand, is the process of navigating a physical place using
items such as signage, maps, and landmarks to guide visitors.
Well-designed and properly placed signage improves navigation and the overall wayfinding experience by
offering clear directions, identifying destinations, and communicating critical information in a branded visual
style.
Signage and wayfinding design elements should be consistent across different environments. Consistent
elements help individuals grasp information and develop patterns in an area, such as always using identifiable
green exit signs.
Signages are used for the following reasons:
1. For advertising and marketing
2. To attract customers
3. For brand identification. For example, seeing the Domino’s logo, you
understand that you will get pizza!
4. Health and safety of people
5. To enhance the overall appearance of a building/place.
Types of Wayfinding Signage
There are four types of Wayfinding signage. Let us study each:
1. Identification Signage: These are the most common type of navigational
signage. They notify a person that they have arrived at their location.
They also function as general navigational landmarks. Examples:
l Plaques on doors indicating which room it is.
l Signs denoting specific departments, like the Physics Department or Sports
Department.
l Signs marking landmarks, such as historical sites.
