Integrated pest management, another green agricultural practice, focuses on using natural predators and
biological control methods instead of harmful chemicals. Additionally, agricultural mechanization enables
efficient farming while minimising resource wastage, making farming more sustainable and productive.

Another significant aspect of green employment in agriculture is the role of Farmer Producer Organizations
(FPOs) and cooperatives. These organizations unite small and marginal farmers, helping them reduce
agricultural risks and improve their livelihoods. Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) provide valuable training and
technological support to farmers and local youth, encouraging sustainable practices such as agro-waste
collection, storage, and reuse. Agrotourism, a growing field, allows farmers to diversify their income by offering
eco-friendly tourism experiences on their farms. Together, these green agricultural initiatives contribute to
environmental conservation, economic growth, and food security.
                 Transportation
The shift towards fuel-efficient automobiles and alternative fuels is creating numerous green job opportunities
in the transportation sector. The adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and biofuels such as BioCNG
and Bio-methanol helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions while promoting sustainable energy sources. The
Indian government's 2018 biofuel policy supports ethanol production and biodiesel output, encouraging
the use of eco-friendly fuels. These initiatives generate employment in biofuel production, research, and
distribution, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable transportation system.

The promotion of electric mobility further enhances green job prospects. The Ministry of Power’s Energy
Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is driving the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) by building a market for
sustainable transport solutions. EV technology, including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and battery
electric vehicles (BEVs), is creating employment opportunities in vehicle manufacturing, battery production,
charging infrastructure development, and maintenance services. Additionally, training programs for
e-rickshaw operation and maintenance are empowering entrepreneurs, fostering self-employment, and
promoting greener urban mobility. The shift towards electric and alternative-fuel vehicles is not only reducing
environmental impact but also creating a wide range of sustainable job opportunities in the transportation
                 sector.
