Some general rules for writing a paragraph are:
• It begins on a new line.
• The first line has an indentation.
• It focuses on a main theme.
Example of writing a paragraph:
I study in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Ajmer, Rajasthan. It is located near the highway. It is a small school with few
excellent teachers. My school has around 200 students.
I enjoy going to school and learning new things. After lessons, I go to the playground and play football with
my classmates. My school also has a library. It is fantastic!
Communication is a two-way process in which information or messages are communicated between
ÿ
individuals through the use of words, symbols, signs, or behaviour.
To learn a language, four fundamental skills must be developed: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
ÿ
Communication requires a sender who encodes and transmits a message across a channel, and a
ÿ
receiver who decodes the message and provides feedback.
Feedback is vital in communication since it allows you to determine whether or not the receiver
ÿ
understood the message.
Messages can be readily misconstrued if the ability to listen attentively is not present.
ÿ
Effective communication abilities enable us to convey the message accurately and entirely.
ÿ
One of the most fundamental communication abilities is the ability to listen.
ÿ
Active listening is a crucial skill in professional settings, as it enhances communication, strengthens
ÿ
relationships, and improves productivity.
Active listening can have an impact on your job effectiveness, the quality of your relationships with
ÿ
others, and as a result, your general well-being.
To ensure active listening, use the acronym ‘RESPECT.’
ÿ
There are many barriers to active listening like biases, being preoccupied, and audio or visual distractions.
ÿ
Parts of speech are the classifications of words in any language that are based on their function inside
ÿ
a sentence.
A ‘sentence’ is a combination of words that conveys a complete meaning, thought, or action.
ÿ
In English, there are 15 primary punctuation symbols or signs.
ÿ
Nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs are the basic parts of speech.
ÿ
A well-constructed sentence typically includes a subject and a predicate.
ÿ
Sentences can be simple or complex, active or passive, declarative or interrogative or exclamatory or
ÿ
imperative.
When composing a paragraph, make sure all the sentences share the same idea.
