Types of Entrepreneurs
There are various types of entrepreneurs. Let us learn about some of them in detail.
Entrepreneurs Who Provide Services
Entrepreneurs either create a new market for their services or introduce their offerings within an existing
market. They identify an idea and turn it into a service that is either unique or not available in the market. It is
fundamentally a service, regardless of the kind or scale of operation.
Entrepreneurs in Business
These are entrepreneurs who engage in commercial and trading activities but are not involved in production.
A business entrepreneur recognises a product's market potential. From that point forward, it is the responsibility
of the company and trading entrepreneur to stimulate demand for the goods. The product may exist in a
foreign market, but the individual can increase demand for it in the local market.
Entrepreneurs in Industry
An industrial entrepreneur is simply a manufacturer who recognises client requirements and develops products
or services to meet those demands. Such an entrepreneur is product-oriented, beginning with an industrial
unit to generate a product, such as an electronic industry, textile unit, machine tools, manufacturing unit,
and so on.
Agricultural Entrepreneurs
Agriculture has historically been regarded as a low-yielding business. Agriculturists have lately adopted new and
innovative technology to maximise productivity resulting in the emergence of agriculture entrepreneurship.
Technical Entrepreneurs
The Industrial Revolution gave rise to technical entrepreneurs—individuals who leverage their technical
expertise to design and provide machines, tools, and methods. They focus on continuous innovation to
streamline industrial processes and enhance efficiency. By applying their specialised knowledge and skills,
technical entrepreneurs play a key role in driving technological advancements.
Non-technical Entrepreneurs
These entrepreneurs specialise in supporting technical entrepreneurs by leveraging their skills to deliver services.
Their strength lies in managing the non-technical aspects of a product or service, focusing on processes that
take place before and after manufacturing, rather than being directly involved in production.
Professional Entrepreneurs
This type of entrepreneur builds a business from the ground up, nurtures its growth, and guides it to self-
sufficiency. Once the venture reaches this stage, the entrepreneur sells the company and starts a new one,
continually repeating this cycle.
