                                                                                  each row.
Can you find out how many rose
An autorickshaw Here are bushes there are in total?
                      has 3 tyres. 4 autorickshaws.

How many tyres can you see in all?

              Clearly, 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12.

Repeated addition of the same number can be done by multiplication.
We say that, 3 added 4 times is equal to 12.

Or, 4 times 3 is equal to 12.

              We write this as:

                     4 × 3 = 12 read as “4 into 3 is equal to 12.”
Or, “4 multiplied by 3 is equal to 12.”

                     ' ×' stands for multiplication.

                                             4 × 3 = 12 is a multiplication fact.
