Objective: To show the correct time

Materials required: Round paper plates (numbers 1 to 12 written on it along the
boundary with equal spacing), two cardboard strips of different lengths and a glue stick.

Note: The length of each strip must be less than the radius of the paper plate.
               Procedure:

Š Divide the class into groups.

Š each group should have 5 paper plates (numbers 1 to 12 written on each) and
5 sets of cardboard strips (each set contains two strips of different lengths).

Š The teacher calls out a time, say 3 o’clock.

Š The group takes one set of cardboard strips and pastes the
smaller strip on the paper plate from the centre pointing 10 11 12 1 2

                      to 3 (as shown). 9 3

Š Then the group takes the bigger strip and pastes it on the paper 8 7 6 5 4
plate from the centre to the number 12 (as shown). 3 o’clock

Š In the same way, the teacher calls out 4 more times and the or 3:00
group shows the correct time using the paper plates and
                      cardboard strips.
