Objective: To understand that an amount can be made in many ways.
Materials Required: Play money (coins and notes) of different denominations, a
sheet of paper and a pencil
Procedure:
The teacher places the play money, paper sheet and pencil on the table.
Divide the class into pairs and call a pair to perform the activity.
The teacher calls out an amount, say `35.
each member of the pair has to make `35 in different ways. for example:

Other pairs repeat the activity for different amounts called out by the teacher.
They also record the activity on a sheet of paper.

Challenge Question Logical Thinking
1. Sabeena has one `2 coin, one `5 coin, and one `10 note. Amit has one `10
coin and two `1 coins. Who has more money? How much more?
2. Ayaan has `50.He spends `18 on a toy car, `12 on a puzzle, and `9 on a ball. Then he
wants to buy a book costing ₹15. Can Ayaan afford the book? If not, how much more
does he need?
3. Anju has two 50-rupee notes and Asha has three 20-rupee notes. Who has more money
and how much more?
