Gamified Learning Holistic Skills Experiential Learning
Objective: To reinforce understanding and correct usage of spatial
vocabulary such as on, under, near, far, inside, outside, above, below,
behind, and in front of, through an interactive group activity.
Materials Required: Hide 5–6 small classroom items (e.g., eraser, ball, sticker,
crayon, chalk) in different locations around the classroom.
Grouping: Divide the class into groups of 6 students each. You may name the groups
(e.g., Red Team, Star Group, Circle Group, etc.) for better coordination.
Procedure:
Give one verbal clue per group and ask each group to find the object using
the clue. They will then describe the position of the object, using the correct
location word. Some of the clues can be:
l It is under the students’ desk. l It is on the bookshelf.
l It is behind the cupboard. l It is inside the pencil box.
l It is near the dustbin. l It is far from the blackboard.
l It is above the teacher’s table. l It is below the stack of books.
l It is in front of the classroom door. l It is outside the classroom.
Check which group has described the position of the object with the correct
location word.
Let the group tell the other groups what they found. The group will get a
point.
Ask one member of that group to come and write the following on the board:
l We found _______
l It was ______ the ______
Give another clue and repeat.
