Objective: To learn how to add money.

Materials Required: Blank stickers and small pieces of paper for writing the total

               cost

               Procedure:

Š Pair up the children and get them to play a jumbo sale game.

Š Tell the children to pretend that they are at a jumbo sale where they can buy
                      and sell stationery or books.

Š Give every child 10 stickers and 5 pieces of blank paper as paper money.

Š Ask every child to take out any items from his/her bag and set a price to each

item by writing the price on the sticker and sticking it on them.

Š The children take turns to buy from each other three items at a time.

Š The child (who is acting as buyer) has to add the prices of the three items
and then write down the total cost on the small piece of paper money.

Š The child (who is acting as seller) then checks if the total cost is correct by

doing the addition before collecting the paper money from the buyer.
