COMPARISON OF NUMBERS
Diwali is a very famous festival in India and is
also known as the Festival of Lights. On this
day, people decorate their homes with lamps
and fairy lights.
In our school, the students and teachers are
preparing to celebrate Diwali together. Mukul,
Sandhya and their classmates have formed a
Diwali committee and are making a checklist of everything the school needs:
Candles: 215 Diyas: 240 Lanterns: 85
Glitter bulbs: 315 Sweets: 155 Gift boxes: 155
In the above list, the number of sweets ‘is equal to’ the number of gift boxes.
That is, 155 = 155
When ‘=’ is used between two numbers, that means the
numbers on both sides have the same value.
