ADDITION FACTS

We know that addition means putting together.
Madhu had 6 plants on her balcony. She brought 3 more plants. How many plants

are there now? 6

Here, we need to add the numbers 6 and 3. + 3
There are 9 plants now. 9

The sign of addition is ‘+’ (plus). The numbers to be added are called addends and

the answer is called the sum.

So, 6 + 3 = 9 This is an addition fact.

Properties of Addition

Adding 0 to a Number

When we add 0 to a number, we get the same
