SUBTRACTION ON A NUmBeR GRID
Anna wanted to surprise her mother on Mother’s
Day. She baked 56 apple pies.
Mother was very happy with Anna's pies. She invited
her neighbours to eat pies.
They managed to eat 24 pies in all.
Now, Anna wants to know how many pies are left.
For this, Anna uses a 100-number grid.

the bigger number first, that is, 56. Then, she 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30

From 36, she moves left 4 steps (– 4). Finally, 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50
