example 1: Priya has 15 kites and Saransh has 11 kites. Who has more kites and
by how many?
Solution: Priya has 15 kites. Saransh has 11 kites.
We first compare 15 and 11.
Clearly 15 > 11, so Priya has more kites. t O
Now, we find the difference. 1 5
15 – 11 = 4 kites – 1 1
So, Priya has 4 more kites than Saransh. 4
example 2: There are 52 seats in a bus. 35 passengers are sitting in the bus. How
many seats are vacant?

Solution: To find the number of vacant seats in t 12
