Objective: To reinforce the concept of addition and subtraction.

Materials Required: Some plastic bottles, wooden/plastic rings, permanent marker,

               water/sand.
Preparation: With the help of a permanent

marker, write numbers on some plastic bottles.
Fill the bottles with water/sand so that they

remain upright. Refer to the image given.
               Procedure:

Š The class will be divided into two teams. 5 10 25 5

Š The teacher will call out a specific number
(the target) and each team will be given 4 wooden/plastic rings.

Š The team members will take the rings one by one and try to ring bottles so

that their total adds up to the target called out by the teacher.
For example, if the target is 35, the bottles that are ringed can be

                             25 + 10 or 25 + 5 + 5.

The team whose total is more or less than the target, will calculate how much
more or less they have achieved.

Š The team that achieves the target in fewer tries will gain a point.
Š The game will be continued and the team with a greater score will be the

                      winner.
