              Symmetry

              Eva is making a card for her parents for their wedding anniversary.


              For this, she takes a sheet of paper and first folds it into half. She draws a curve and cuts
              out a piece. When she opens it, she gets a heart shape as shown here.










              To make the envelope, she draws the outline
              on a sheet of paper and cuts it out along the
              boundary, as shown here.






              Then she folds and fixes the triangular flaps.

              Now, her envelope is ready.




              She writes her wishes on the card, decorates and puts it inside the

              Figure which can be divided into two identical parts are called
              symmetrical.

              The dividing line is called the line of symmetry.
              Identifying Symmetrical Figures using a mirror

              Take a triangular, rectangular and a circular

              piece of paper. Fold each one in half and cut
              them along the line of symmetry.

                 your school/home garden. See if you can divide them into two identical halves.
