              exPaNDeD Form oF a Number

Expanded form of a number means expressing the number as the sum of the place values
              of its digits.

              For example: Th H t O
                                 4 5 8 9
                                                9 ones = 9 × 1 = 9

                                                8 tens = 8 × 10 = 80
                                                5 hundreds = 5 × 100 = 500 Expanded form of 4589
                                                4 thousands = 4 × 1000 = 4000 is 4000 + 500 + 80 + 9.

              staNDarD Form

When we write a number using digits 0-9 according to their place values, the number is
said to be in standard form.
              For example: 7000 + 500 + 80 + 4 = 7 × 1000 + 5 × 100 + 8 × 10 + 4 × 1

                                = 7 thousands + 5 hundreds + 8 tens + 4 ones 7584 = 7000 + 500 + 80 + 4

                                = 7584 Standard Expanded

                                                                                        form form
