Reading time to 5 minutes inteRVals
We know that a clock dial has 12 equal parts numbered 1, 2, ..., 12 and each part is further
divided into 5 small divisions.
Thus, the dial is divided into 12 × 5 = 60 small equal divisions. So, 1 small division = 1
minute, 5 small divisions = 5 minutes. And 1 hour = 12 × 5 = 60 minutes.
The minute hand moves from one number to the next number in 5 minutes.
When the minute hand is on 1, it means 1 × 5 = 5 minutes have passed.
When the minute hand is on 2, it means 2 × 5 = 10 minutes have passed.
When the minute hand is on 3, it means 3 × 5 = 15 minutes have passed, and so on.
