Conversion of paise into rupees and paise

To convert paise into rupees and paise, we divide the number of paise by 100.

Example: Convert the following into rupees and paise.

(a) 1800 paise (b) 3645 paise

Solution: (a) 100 1800 18 Rupees (b) 100 3645 36 Rupees
100 300
800 645
800 600
0 Paise 45 Paise

∴ 1800 paise = `18.00 ∴ 3645 paise = `36.45

Alternative Method:

To convert paise into rupees and paise, we put a point after Get it right!
2 digits from the right of the given number of paise.
2 p is same as:
The number on the left of the point shows rupees, and the `0.20 `0.02
number on its right shows paise.

For example: (a) 2625 paise = `26.25 (b) 9075 paise = `90.75
