               Objective: To form 4-digit numbers using place value cards

               Materials Required: Coloured paper, pencil colours, a scale and a pair of scissors

               Procedure:
                     Š Divide the class into groups of 4 students

                     Š Each group will get one set of place value
                      cards, that is, thousands, hundreds, tens and ones cards.

                     Š Each group will also get a set of number cards written from 0 to 9.

                     Š Every group will take out any four number cards from their pack of cards.

                     Š Group members will form all possible 4-digit numbers by arranging the cards
                      under the place value cards.

                     Š Teacher will ask the following questions:

                     (a)  How many even/odd numbers do you have? (Groups with the maximum even/

                          odd numbers will get 1 point)
                    (b)  What is the digit at the hundreds/thousands place? (Groups with the greatest


                          digit will get 1 point)


                    (c)  What is the sum of all the face values of the digits in the greatest number?
                          (Groups with the greatest sum will get 1 point)


                    (d)  What is the greatest/smallest number you have? (Groups with the smallest/
                          greatest number will get 1 point)
                     Š At the end of the game, the group with maximum points will be the winner.
