ChECking Addition

Adding numbers in a different order does not change the total. You can add the numbers

from top to bottom or bottom to top; the answer will be the same.

Let us add 1253 and 2442, once from the top and once from the bottom.

First, add the numbers downwards. Now, check your answer by adding upwards.
