objective: To practise the addition of 4-digit numbers

               Materials Required: Paper and pencil

               Procedure:

Š Make groups of four students in the class.

Š All the group members will write their individual 4-digit numbers on four slips.
There will be 16 slips in all in each group.

Š Each group takes out any two number slips randomly and adds the numbers in
                      their notebooks.

Š Write a number more than 5000 on the board: 5600/7400/8000/9000, etc.

Š The groups whose sum is more than the number on the board will get 1 point.
Shuffle the slips and start again.

Š Play many rounds. The group with the most points at the end wins.
