A map is always made according to a scale. The map scale refers to the Cross-Curricular Learning
relationship between the distance on a map and the corresponding distance on the ground.
For example, Scale: 1 cm = 5 km.
It means the distance on the map between two points is 1 cm and the distance on the
ground (actual distance) is 5 km.

The approximate distances between the following cities are as follows:
                 1. Delhi and Lucknow = 550 km 2. Patna and Bengaluru = 2100 km
                 3. Kolkata and Chandigarh = 1800 km
If 1 cm on the map represents 50 km on the ground, that is, 1 cm = 50 km., then
convert the given distances into the map scale.

                                                                                                             Critical Thinking
                     Challenge Question
Rehan, Anaya, Siya and Maya wanted to measure their heights using a measuring tape.
Anaya’s height is 1720 mm, Rehan’s height is 2 cm 4 mm more than Siya but 4 cm
2 mm less than Maya. The total height of Siya and Anaya is 3 m 40 cm. Find the height
of all of them (in cm and mm). Also, write their heights in ascending order.
