Bar graPh
A bar graph is another way of representing data. Representation of data with the
help of bars (rectangles) in a diagram is called a bar graph or bar chart.
Every bar graph has:
(a) a title explaining the information given in the graph.
(b) the horizontal and vertical axes.
(c) labels explaining the meaning of each bar.
(d) a scale that is chosen for the given data.
A bar graph can be drawn horizontally or vertically using graph paper, a ruler and a
pencil. The width of each bar is uniform. The bars are drawn leaving equal spaces
(gaps) between them.
