Objective: To collect and organise data on classmates’ daily water intake and to
discuss the recommended daily water intake and the importance of healthy hydration.

Materials required: Survey form or worksheet (with columns for student name and
number of glasses or litres of water consumed), pencil or pen for each student,

               large chart paper or whiteboard
               Procedure:

Š Briefly discuss why water is essential for health (e.g., regulates body

                      temperature, aids digestion).
Š Introduce the recommended daily water intake for children (about 6–8 glasses
                      or 1.5-2 litres).

                     Š data Collection (10 minutes):

l Distribute the survey worksheets to your classmates.

l Ask each classmate to record their total water consumption the previous
day in glasses (250 mL each) or litres.

Š On the board or a large chart, create a table with two columns:
Student Name glasses of Water (250 mL each)

Š Using chart paper and markers, draw horizontal and vertical axes.

Š Label the vertical axis as ‘Number of Glasses’ and the horizontal axis as
                      ‘Student Names or ID Numbers’.

Š Plot a bar for each classmate’s intake.
